Tyson Greenaway – Owner

Tyson has been surfing for 38 years and is a former competitive surfer. In 2009 he competed for England in the European Surfing Championships, held in Jersey, coming third overall in the Seniors category which helped the England Team to a fourth place finish. In 2011 he again competed in the Europeans held in Bundoran in Ireland. In 2011 he finished 5th overall.

Tyson won the English National Championships over 45’s category in 2023.

Tyson, a Level 4 surf coach and ASI Trainer Assessor, has been coaching for 12 years. He has coached the British Junior Squad in 2003, 2007 and 2008 and from 2005 to 2010 sat on the British Surfing Association’s coaching committee.

Ian Gabbitas – Manager

Ian has been surfing for over 27 years and this year is his twentieth year of working at the academy (he started as a twelve year old washing wetsuits!). He is one of the most experienced surf coaches in Britain and has loads of knowledge to pass on to his students.

Ian loves the beach and when he’s not delivering surfing lessons you can be sure to see him practising the maneuvers that he learnt this winter.
