About Junior Surf Club
We set the Junior Surf Club up in 2000 to provide young surfers from Gwithian, Hayle and St Ives with affordable surfing lessons to get in the waves and take their surfing as far as it could go.
The Surf Club meets every Saturday morning at 10am and 1pm also every Thursday at 4pm during the summer months.
Upcoming Junior Surf Club Courses
We have a full season of great sessions planned for the junior courses running in 2024 starting on Thursday 18th of April and Saturday 20th April. The price is £75 per course and this includes 6 sessions. On Saturdays we have 2 separate courses running, one at 10am and the other at 1pm. We also have a Thursday club at 4pm. You cannot switch between days and times, you have to do the same time and day each week.
All abilities are welcome from complete beginner to seasoned pros and we ask that surfers are aged 10-16yrs (8 & 9yrs considered if strong confident swimmers and can manage to handle the surfboard on their own or if a parent/guardian is willing to go in the sea and assist them).
All registration forms for the Spring term course and fees are to be dropped into surf shop before your course commences to guarantee your spot. When dropping forms off you have around 15min before the Parking Eye will issue a fine – if you want a chat or to look around the surf school we recommend getting a ticket.
The price covers all the equipment that you will need such as surfboards, wetsuits and, in the colder months, boots, gloves and hood. In fact all you need to bring is a towel.
