Stand Up Paddle boarding (SUP) is one of the fastest growing sports in the world that has more than doubled in popularity each year since it began to take off in 2005. It’s easy to see why.
SUP is a traditional Hawaiian way of surfing where you are constantly standing while using a long paddle to propel yourself either in flat water or onto breaking waves. Stand Up Paddle surfing is a fantastic way to stay fit and is the most accessible form of surfing there is. Even if the sea is flat then you can still get out on one of our SUP boards and Cornwall is one of the best locations to give it a try. You can SUP in the sea, rivers, estuaries and even the Tamar – literally anywhere there is water more than six inches deep. Gwithian is a perfect venue for trying SUP and if the surf is too big here it’s easy to move down St Ives Bay to the more sheltered beaches at Hayle.
Stand Up Paddle boarding is for everyone. With standard surfing fitness is usually the barrier to performance and success but because of the way that SUP boards are made they have a tremendous amount of buoyancy and will float everyone from children to adults. There is no need for anyone to be left out.
We have a load of SUP boards for you to try out so why not give us a call on 01736 757579 and find out how much fun Stand Up Paddle boarding can be.
