I guess the moral of today’s story is that the early bird gets the worm. Offshore winds and headhigh swell have deteriorated rapidly to waisthigh with howling cross-shore winds.
And rain.

Surf Report Saturday 11th of January
It’s slightly overhead out there this morning with a light onshore wind. Winds should swing offshore at lunchtime.
Surf Report Friday 10th January
Today the surf has dropped off a little bit. It’s about waist to chest high with a moderate south-westerly wind blowing. It’s rideable out there so you may as well get in.
Surf-report Thursday, 9 January
Well, normal service has been resumed. Today the surf is about head high. There is a strong north westerly wind blowing and it doesn’t look too good. It’s still surfable though so you might as well get it.

The surf has calmed down quite a bit now. It’s about overhead, may be overhead and a half,with a light offshore wind. It’s the best it’s been at this end for a long time.
